Cafe Postres- Old Town Porvoo
As mentioned in an earlier blog....we are back in Finland, specifically a few days in Porvoo/ Borga then a few days in Aland, then another day in Porvoo/ Borga. We met Kim's friend, Stefan, and his wife on Saturday in Porvoo old town....apparently there is a newish quaint little place that has opened and they said it was nice. Well, i always like to try new places....i was of course hopeing that the cappuccino would be nice.
I love Porvoo Old Town, i think the wooden houses are just so beauiful and the pavements...
The inside was quite modern, but very tastefully done. They were busy with a weekend brunch buffet as it was just 11am. Stefan and his wife decided to eat sweets with their coffee and Kim and i went for savoury. They have a small display of their various items...beautifully presented...there were quite a few things that appealed to us...and the choice was not easy....let me share a pic of the beautiful buffet...

Stefan chose the chocolate brownie with the whipped cream (back left), Christiana chose home-made gelato, which in fact has won many awards because it apparently is so good....well Kim and i thought we would need to go back and try and give our verdict...compare it to Italian ice-cream...hahaha. Kim and i chose the shrimp, dill, egg, sour cream and red onion on wholeweat....very very yummie...we absoloutely loved it...and what a portion. And i just have to say again...the presentation just beautiful.
The cappuccino cups were so cute...hand-made pottery cups....no handles....and my cappuccino was great...it even came with extra foam (but kim explained that this was not the norm...he tired to explain to them a dry cappuccino....hahaha). I guess i will have to go back and try their normal cappuccino, just to give a fair evaluation....next time cappuccino and ice-cream. Anyway, my cappuccino was fabulous, lots of foam, thick foam and strong coffee....and extra foam and milk on the side...let me share a pic...
Cappuccino
It was great catching up with them over amazing lunch and cappuccino...yes, we would definitely go back to this place....now we are off to explore the old town a little bit and tonight dinner at Katja's, Kim's sister....from me...for now...cheers.
