A little bit about...

The next few ports....like i have mentioned before....Turkey for me does unfortunately not excite me much...although as mentioned in my previous blog...Sirinca really surprised me and i did think that village was beautiful....and yes...Istanbul has a lot to offer to see....but once seen...i dont get so excited...and yes...some people look at me and say...but Italy you have seen...but there is something for me about certain places that I could see over and over and over again....Italy being on top of the list....anyway...enough about Italy and how much I am in love with it...as i am writing this we are actually sailing into Naples where today I have quite a few plans how ill spend my day...but enough about today...let me tell you a little bit of the highlights the past few ports....just a few....of course we doing the cruise the other way around now...so after Piraeus it was Kusudasi...Istanbul...and Mykonos....in Kusudasi there is an old fort when you drive into the port...it is actually called Pigeon Island...so in the morning kim's dad and i decided to take a stroll there and go and check it out....it is about 1.5km away...so it didnt take is long to get there...and guess what...it is closed for renovations...what a disappointment....there we were....wanting to see this old fort...and then it is closed...so the outside is all we got....oh well....

We had someTurkish tea, which is very similar to your normal tea, and waited for kim and his mom before going for some Turkish lunch of beef kebab and lahmachun.....which i am not su whether you remember is the Turkish pizza...it is very thin and covered with a very thin layer of beef mince....and then you get some rocket, tomato and cucumber with it and a slice of lemon....you squeeze the lemon over and add whatever ingredients you might fancy...not a bad meal..if you want something very typical...i do have to admit though that i do prefer that baked aubergine with tomato....and the fried aubergine.....beef kebab i am not a fan, although the meat is beef they cook it in lamb fat and it really has a distinct taste of lamb, which i do no like...strolling through the bazaar we made our way back...not forgetting to buy my nuts (peanuts with coarse salt) and looking at some leather jackets....man they have some amazing ones...and yes...we did buy some...quality is fab and they fit well....actually i was very impressed...so yes...some shopping....

Norwegian Spirit

Istanbul...ok...it was raining so the spirit to do something was not very high....so we simply decided to go to our favourite Juluis Meinl coffee shop (near the ship) and have a good cappuccino.....

And on the way back....nice surprise...we spotted a new magnum....so cool.....like a 25 year anniversary celebration magnum...vanilla with ganache ice cream and choc chili outside...kim did not find it special...and for me it was nice...i liked it...but still the pistaccio and the sandwich are winning.....And we did have the pistaccio one the other day....just to test that it still was good...and yes...it still is

Magnum ice cream

Mykonos....kim and i went for a stroll....a cigar for kim....some cappuccinos in a cool little cafe called stairs....and then we met kim's parents and Gustav at our "local" spot and yes...predictably we had the grilled octopus...greek salad and the saganaki cheese....like a haloumi...deep fried and warm...very yummie....dessert was on the house...and it was family style...a huge plate with various ice creams....whipped cream on top..and some syrup...what a nice gesture....then it was time to go back to the ship...it was almost 20:00....sailing was late today....21:00...why..cause arrival was only at 13:00....next port would be Naples....as i have mentioned earlier...and i have many plans...hope i manage to squeeze it all in...but for now cheers....let me start my day in Naples now.....
