I'm in LOVE......ROMA

So....the first time I went to Roma was about 3 years ago....i liked it...but def did not love it...i am not sure why i decided to go back...i guess i wanted to discover rome...but not the touristy side of things but the real rome....man...i am so happy i did.....i fell in love with it......from the people, to the food, to the buildings, the fresh markets...just everything was right, except my italian, i can speak a little but not very well...haha.....

so i off course my days all started how the real itlalians do it..cornetti e cappuchino.....cornetti is like a criossant but a little sweeter and that is what they typically eat, some even dunk it into their cappuchino....so nice.....so here is a pic:
so breakfast was def good.....my day then continued with just randomly walking an exploring from the more tourisTy sites like the vatican (see first pic below) and the Pantheon, which funny enough, af amous site that i never saw on my first visit....(see second pic below) to tiny real italian markets where one can buy fresh fruits and veg, 100s of vinegars and oils, cheeses, spread and can taste it all.....off course i bought some pistaccio creâm liquor and pistaccio biscuits and varoius truffles.....so great......ând honestly i loved seeing all the alleys and side streets, rome is so pretty (see third and fourth pic below)....lunch always consisted of somthing typical italian, from brushetta to anti pasti to carprese....totally my scene.....

the weather in rome was amazing, around 18 degrees during the day and always blue sky...i honestly loved it...and guess wot i found amazing cappuchino as good as south africa...finally, haha....i also saw piazza di venezia (see first pic below), also saw the famous trevi fountain, which i have seen before but every time i am awe struck at how amazing it is, the pic below (second) is just a tiny part of it....and the roman forum...which is all the ruins from the romans...amazing how that stuff is still there...(see third pic below) so beautiful...as u can see...i really loved my time there and wished it didnt end so quickly.....i will def go back....

every day after exploring ROMA i managed to go for an aperitifo (pre drink) before dinner, this is done at some casual spot, sometimes i could sit outside...i always had campari soda and they bring you chips and peanuts...then off to some random non tourist spot, i would walk around 30min every night to find a spot......tried risotto, saltimboca al romana (veal covered with prosuitto and sage leave) and off course pizza;(the pizza is sooooo good....dough is just so fluffy and WOW)....once i had dessert....off course my old time favourite tiramisu...but i have to say mine with the hot choc instead of espresso is better.....

so...now i am gonna stop talking about how much i loved it.....ill be back 100%.....and im planning (yes, i shouldnt be planning), to stay just a little bit in italy when i am done with the ship...just some holiday time...haha...its just so amazing.....off to prag on monday.....apparently its cold and rainy...oh well........
