Christmas Market Montepulciano
So....another year has passed and it's once again time for Christmas.....last year we went to the Montepulciano Christmas market at night....this year we wanted to go during the day...well, in the afternoon. So today, the first advent (Sunday) we thought it was a good day to go...beautiful day...sun was out and it was quite warm....however...a lot of fog down...let me share some pics
When we arrived....wow....it had A LOT of people....but all good....we strolled, and found some beautiful Christmas decor stalls....where we bought some typical Christmas tree ornaments, from fabric to wood to ceramic and even terra-cotta. We also managed to find our friends, the ones who own the coffee shop in Montepulciano, who had a chocolate store, a Venchi chocolate store...yummie....and guess what....Sofia got spoilt with a chocolate lollipop....let me share some pics..

After that we also managed to find a few stalls who were selling Gluehwein....that of course we wanted...in Italian Vin brulee....so damn delicious....it just gives me such a Christmas feeling...winter warmth....for those who do not know, it is warmed up red wine with spices....such as cloves, cinnamon and orange rind. Let me share some pics of the market and the vin brulee....

After that....of course time to take Sofia to the Castello di Babbo Natale (Santa Claus Castle)....the decor was quite nice....but what was missing was the Christmas music...I expected loud Christmas Carols being played....but as I said decor was beautiful...and lots of places where you could take pics with the kids...and of course we did with Sofia...let me some pictures of the entrance...

The first room had a lot of different photo stops...first one was reindeers, then there was a red sleigh and then there was a white snow bench.....we chose the sleigh....(yes, we could have chosen them all, but I did not think Sofia wanted to pose all the time).....let me share some sleigh pictures...

The next room was the kitchen of Santa Clause...very cute...dining-room and of course where the elves were making cookies...let me share a picture of Sofia on one of the chairs...

The next room was the bedroom where they had beds...and of course a measure where the elves see how tall they are...and of course Sofia wanted to see how tall she is...and of course she wanted to try on a elf hat...well..she is 80cm....and let me share some pics...

Next up was the post office where kids can write letters to Santa Claus for Christmas....we did not write...and then was Santa Claus himself where one could line up to take a pic with Santa Claus....which is what we did....BUT....when Sofia was first and she was next to Santa Claus she just started to cry...tears coming...I guess she was a little scared of Santa Claus....so no pic....but a pic of Santa Claus...

Last but not least was an area where children could get face paint and balloons...Sofia is a little bit too small for face paint...but a balloon she wanted....hahaha...and now...of course today is the first advent...so let me end this blog by wishing everyone a very happy first advent...the Christmas season is starting.
