Mediterranean Run

Sofia is back onboard and we are enjoying two last cruises before we all go home...even kim starts his vacation. So we are all counting down. This week we went to Dubrovnik, Piraeus, Santorini and Split.

In Dubrovnik, Sofia and I decided to take the bus (offered by the ship) and visit the old town. Afterall Sofia had not been there and i have not been there since I actually worked on the ships which we all know has been some time. Once we arrived in old town we strolled around, its car free, and then sat down for a cappuccino. I thought it would be good cause the brand of the coffee was Meinl....but i was very disappointed. In all honesty, the coffee tasted like filter coffee, the foam was way too airy....im sad to say that i could not even finish the coffee cause it was just terrible. The outing was not tok long cause it was hot and crowded and we thought we could spend some time on the quiet ship. Let me share some pics....

In Phiraeus we did not go out at all....Sofia was never out there but it was way too hot....just walking on deck she wanted to go inside and play inside...way cooler and so i thought we should not torcher her, cause again, for me it is not the most exciting port...once you have seen Acropolis and Athens.....i was happy.

Santorini on this run we arrive in the morning and leave late afternoon/ early evening. This time, Kim came with us and we took the cable car up (absoloutely no lines at 11, what a pleasure). We found a little gyros restaurant and sat down and ordered the meal (€9) for a gyros, a cooldrink and a Greek salad. I expected a small little Greek salad...what a surprise...it was big...Kim and i really could have shared...but we managed to get through our own meal...hahaha...Sofia enjoyed roaminh around the terrace. We ended our visit eating Greek frozen yoghurt (mango and Greek yoghurt) topped with honey, walnuts, mango andq amaren cherries...simply delicious. After that....cable car down...and enjoying some quiet time on the ship. Let me share some pics...

Last but definitely not least was our day in Split. The beach is a 10min walk from the ship...so convenient. The weather was a little overcast, even a few drops of rain so when we arrived at the beach...it was dead quiet....we could literally choose any spot we wanted. Also, it was low tide which ,eant there was about 5cm of water for about 30m...perfect for Sofia. She loved it...running in the water, playing in the sand....laughing, giggling, it was so nice to see.....we had some small snacks on the beach, an ice cream (pistaccio and amarena for Kim and walnut for Sofia and me). It was carte d'or and it was damn delicious...flavoursome and soft...exactly how it should be...yummie. Let me share some pics of Sofia enjoying the beach.
