Montisi

So....time has arrived to write a little bit about our little village where we decided to settle for the next 16 months....hmmm....where after that...well....that we are not sure yet....let's take one step at a time...hahaha.

So the house we have found is in a place called Montisi....small village between Montepulciano and Pienze (well between but north of them both)...I think maybe I should share a map to make things a little bit more clear...

Montisi Location

The house is a beautiful Tuscan "brick" house...exactly what you would expect of the Tuscany, but inside it is newly renovated, which I must say is fab (mosquito nets, underfloor heating etc). We have a large garden and pool and rooms with on-suite bathrooms...a thing that for us, coming from South Africa, was a given but here in Europe it is not so common....but again...to give you an insight into what I am talking about....here is some pics of the house....

Again...front of the house

For me...the house is just beautiful...and the views are incredible....on a clear day we are able to see Montalcino and Siena...just stunning...

We are also able to walk to Montisi (2.5km)...where we actually have found our local bar where we can go have some aperitivo or even a cappuccino....aperitivo for us has become the famous Prosecco (normally a Vino Spumante)...served with some peanuts....cappuccino....is decent...it is strong, not too milky, not too big...could do with more foam and a bit thicker foam....let me share a pic with you...

Cappuccino

Upstairs from the local bar in Montisi is also a small restaurant...no menu...just the daily specials.....upon arrival in Montisi, middle December, we actually ate there...is was ok...nothing oh my word wow...but it was good...and yes, we would go again for a quick, convenient bite to eat....for starter we had a mixed anti-pasti platter and for mains some tagliatelle Ragu (bolognese)....and yes...i do have a pic of the anti-pasti plate....so let me share...

Anti-pasti

in other words, yes...we are slowly starting to settle in...we have also discovered some other restaurants and coffee places and in good time I will also share those with you...for now...I will end of with a few sunset pics...all taken from the house during various evenings....
