My parents and granny on the cruise

So....finally time for my family to come on board.....mom, dad and mutti....kim and i have been so excited...planning what to do...Dinners....going out...etc....so Saturday morning they arrived ready for the Greek island cruise....Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos and Katakolon.....Saturday evening we took them to Cagney's restaurant...The steakhouse which now has Angus certified beef...and as always...it was delicious...i had the ribs for starters (off the bone marinated with smokey bbq sauce), followed by filet mignon....mom the same....mutti crab salad followed by filet mignon and dad and kim had the chicken drumsticks followed by the dried Angus beef rib eye....which you have to order rare....cause there is no blood anymore in it....they loved it...well as i said we all loved our meals....and yes...i will share some pics....

Dessert....brownie for mutti and my dad....of course we did do some other dinners with them....Moderno, Pappas and yes...My favourite Le Bistro...Where of course i had the scallops and pork (mom the same), kim: scallops and duck, dad: snails and duck and mutti: scallops and duck....and dessert...yes please....i would never leave Le Bistro without my wonderful cheese platter of brie, some strong yellow softish cheese and blue cheese...and cranberries....walnuts....and please dont forget my dear friend Mr Butter.....dad and kim....affogato....food divine.....highlight of course the Jazz Brunch....which always happens on the last sea day....the Jade Orchestra plays Jazz and brunch is simply fab....huge buffet....cheese, cold meats, smoked salmon, smoked trout, crevelax, sill fishes, cheesecake, creme brulee, caesar salad with prawns or chicken, apple pie, apricot crumble, fruits, nuts, quiche....amazing...and then of course you can order mains...omelette, poached eggs, filet mignon, pasta, salmon or waffles....and trust me...when you walk out of there....boy....you are full.....amazing....

Enough about food...we also enjoyed a few bottles of bubbly while they were on board (unfortunately not for kim due to 0 alcohol policy) and kim and my dad also enjoyed a few cigars....Bali Hai (outside bar) was where they enjoyed them....

The bubbly winner was of course the Chandon....yes made by Moet Chandon...but produced in California and hence it was just Chandon NOT Moet Chandon..have a look what the bottle looks like...one would think they were produced for the ship....but they were not...so divine...i actually read that soon they will make one in India...interesting...will definitely wanna try that one.....

So...these were the highlights of the food and drinks while ON the Jade.....of course we also had some highlights outside....ill mention 3....each one at a different port...first Santorini...first congrats to mom and me...we actually walked up the steep hill while dad, mutti and kim took the cable car...And guess what....mom and i were faster...Yes...sometimes a little scared with all the donkeys..Maybe also a little smelly...and hot...But we enjoyed it....view was fab......and actually it was fun.....

Then a good lunch at kim and my favourite spot.....ordered baked feta cheese, greek salad, octopus, tzaziki (bread of course) and a lamb shank.....and man...food was so good...kim and my dad loved lamb shank so much that they ordered a second one....amazing....it was simply delicious...great view and to end it off with a great macchiato.....and later not to forget....ice cream....what a fab day out...and yes...kim and me walked down...so congrats to me? I would say so.....walking up AND down.....

Next highlight....Mykonos....beautiful Mykonos....the three of them went out first and we met them later for some cocktails amd snacks....the snacks.....grilled octopus...and again....so fabulous...just amazing....just looking at the pics again make my mouth water....wow.....

And last highlight....we had lunch in Katakolon at the pilot's place....and there we had grilled octopus (whole tentacles), greek salad, baked feta cheese and small deep fried fishes....man....it was so yummie that i totally forgot to take pics.....we ordered a hell of a lot, i thought way too much, but we finished it all...i would say we were little pigs...and the bread with the olive oil....wow....i love this restaurant....Mouragio...white and blue checkered table clothes...not too cheap....but worth it...amazing...and if you are up for it...try an ouzo...so cool...see-through liquid but when placed in water gets milky....amazing....so yes....we enjoyed a cruise of excellent food, bubbly and of course...company....loved having them on board....so....soon...a new blog....about our beach party for the crew....cheers for now.....
