Did you know......the story of the croissant and carpacchio......
So here are some interesting facts i have learnt and i thought id share them with u....
Did u know that....
Croissant aka cornetti aka Gipfel was actually invented in Austria.....who would have thought....so this is the story.....the Austrians won the war against the Turks and they wanted to make something to celebrate their victory.....so they invented the croissant aka cornetti aka Gipfel....the shape actually has a high significance because it is the shape of the half moon which is depicted on the Turkish flag...interesting and here we all thought it came from the French.....
Carpaccio originally comes from Venice....Some countess was told by her vegetarian dr that she was only allowed to eat meat in the raw form, so Harry' bar where she always hung out cut the raw meat very thinly and dressed it with Dijon mustard. When they looked at what they created they thought it looked like a painting from Vittore Carpaccio, especially the colours reminded them of it...hence it was called carpaccio.....interesting facts...do what u want with them😉
Now my time in Prague is almost over...my last dinner tonight and tomorrow my bus leaves at lunch time to go back to Vienna......
