So...i have quite a few eating places we have visited here lately....so i am going to tell you about them....the first one is a little shop...well it looks like a shop from the outside (specifically, a small grocery shop), but when you look inside...you realise there are a few tables at the back....simple....wooden tables, with plastic knifes and forks and paper serviettes....well....why not be like the locals and try something like that for a light lunch....and that is exactly what we did....mom, dad and me ordered a glass of prosecco and Mutti wanted some water....the lady, who by the way runs the shop and the little restaurant....and MAKES the food, thought, why only bring three glasses....si she said, she would leave the bottle for us...hahaha.....well, in fact it was a very yummie prosecco....so yes, it was a good choice to leave the bottle.....let me share a pic...
Prosecco
Dad ordered a panini con proscuitto crudo e formaggio and us three ladies ordered a salumi e formaggio piatto.....it was freshly prepared and very delicious....unfortunately i do not have a pic of dad's panini...but i do have a pic of our platter....

It was a perfect little light lunch...would we go back...most definitely....even Sofia was enjoying her time there...have a look....

Another little spot.....an enoteca beautifully situated at a corner in the sun...and i emphasise sun...cause there are not a lot of places where you can sit outside on the pavement in the sun.....in fact, mom, dad and Mutti had been there for a light lunch with some friends and they said it was nice...so we decided to go there also.....and of course it was a beautiful day, so sitting in the sun, was definitely something we all wanted....mom and i ordered a glass of prosecco, dad a glass of red wine....Mutti decided on water....for lunch...dad ordered a tagliata di manzo con rosmary e olio.....while Mutti, mom and I went for the famous..... (Drumrole)....antipasto platter (cheese, cold meat and crostini)...and again....it was delicious.....i also tried dad's sliced beef and it was perfectly cooked...and so juicy...very yummie indeed....time to share some pics...

At the end of the meal....mom, Mutti and I received a vin santo (famous sweet wine) and dad received a grappa....but what a cool bottle....
Grappa bottle (sorry lady ruined my shot)
We also went there when Kim's family was here visiting us....but that time just for aperitifo...So that time we actually ordered a whole bottle of bubbly....what a cool bottle..
Aperitifo
So yes, another good meal out in Montepulciano....and it is not just the food and wine that is great in Montepulciano....the main street really is pretty...let me share one pic...
Spring time
Last, but not least....i am going to write about a small little place opposite the enoteca mentioned above. In fact, we wanted to go to the enoteca but there were no tables big enough inside....so we went to the place opposite it....Kim was back from the ship and his wish was to go out for some typical Tuscan food.....we ordered an aperitifo....and have a look what we received.....
Aperitifo platter
Tomato brushetta, artichoke crostini, liver crostini, peccorino and salami...wow....so yummie...we couldn't believe the platter we received....it was very good....so after that, we decided we would go straight for main courses....starters would be skipped....Kim had the cinghiale (wild boar) stew, dad had the cinghiale tagliatelle, mom and mutti ravioli and i had the tagilato di manzo....we were all very happy....kim's stew was fabulous...the meat was sooooo soft....and also the ravioli...wow....fabulous...mine, it was slightly over-cooked, but still tasty...yes, we would go back...after all, mine was the only one slightly over-cooked and the service was incredible....they were also so good with Sofia.....crawling around everywhere...(then again, Italians are very child friendly, i have not encountered a place where they are not welcomed yet). I guess time to share some pics....

No dessert....and grappa....we saved for home....so, yes, we have been having a few good meals in Montepulciano...and i must say...it just feels like we are on holiday...it is very relaxing here in Tuscany. Of course we have also visited some other small towns....but these i will leave for another time..for now...goodnight...we chat soon.
