Bucket List

So...i have thought long and hard about this one...and this definitely was not written in one day....in fact this is probably not the last time i am updating this....in fact...i think this blog will be continually edited....but one needs to start one day...what is a bucket list...i guess most people know....but for those that do not know...it is things that you want to do before you die...for me...it is a lot of travelling...places i would like to see....it could also be something you want to do...for example to sky dive...which i must admit...was on my bucket list at some stage but i scrapped it...why...they say...once you have children, you cannot be selfish and do such risky things....and somehow...i do agree....gliding from a mountain is still on the bucket list though, cause you glide, which means it is open before you start....

You might be thinking...why is she writing this bucket list on a blog...well...because a piece of paper gets lost.....and on the ipad, it can get erased...so the best...for me...is to write it in my blog....something hopefully that will continue to live for quite some time...so let me start...and i will try put an explanation to most things...maybe all...let's see how it goes....this is not in any type of order...just all things listed....

  • Amsterdam (i would love to see Amsterdam, described as one of the Venice's of the North, i want to see the Jewish museum, the red light district as well as the home of Ann Frank)
  • Copenhagen (this i have my husband to blame, he keeps telling me how beautiful it is, another Venice's of the North)
  • Stockholm (this i hear is another Venice's of the North and there is a debAte whether Copenhagen or Stockholm is more beautiful...my dad says Stockholm, my husband says Copenhagen.....i would like to see both....i guess there is a similar debate about Budepest and Prague...for me...i prefer Budapest)
  • Gorilla (either from Rwanda or from Uganda...you do a track, you go into the area, and i hear that you pay every day you go in, and of course like Safaris, you are not guaranteed to see the animals....so maybe you need to pay for 2 nights...but i would love to see them)
  • Amalfi Coast (i would love to see the whole Amalfi Coast, I have been to the island off the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and i loved it...and i have also seen Sorrento, boardering the Amalfi Coast...but i really wanna see the whole Amalfi Coast, this includes renting a place in one of the villages and driving around to see the others, my preference Positano)
  • Gliding (i guess this would be off a cliff or a mountain...destination unknown)
  • Argentina (the North, Buenos Aires and the South...meaning...the wine areas in the north and the glaciers in the south and eat beef and dance in Buenos Aires)
  • Roadtrip with a camper through the States (this my parents did with my sister and i when we were small....6 years...and i have memories from when i was small...and i loved it...i would love to do it now....now that i am an adult)
  • San Francisco (part of the road trip or just going there)
  • New Orleans (part of the road trip or just going there....definitely need to go to a Jazz Concert though)
  • Mid west....i need to see one of those typical Cowboy barns
  • Alaska (i would love to do a cruise through Alaska, see the galciers in the sea)
  • Hawaii (i would love to do a cruise through Hawaii, see all the different islands and the active vulcano)
  • Vienna (i have been there before...and i think it is beautiful...and i would love to go there with my husband)
  • Northern Lights in Lapland (i would love to see the Northern Lights....it would be an absoloute wish to see it in one of the glass igloos, that might be pushing my luck....but the Northern Lights definitely)
  • Rishikesh (india, the yoga heaven, this was never on top of my list, but after my Indian beautican told me about how amazing it was, this place at the bottom of the Himalayas and by the Gangi river...it did intrigue me...and i must say it looks pretty spectacular)
  • Cinque Terre (i have been there for a day visit...but i wanna go there for a week's visit)
  • Skiing in Zermatt by the Matterhorn (i have done this before, but i want to take my husband there)
  • Berlin (i want to see the wall that divided the East and the West and i want to go to the museums to see the history)
  • San Sebastian (city in the North of Spain, known for the excellent food)
  • Ireland (the east part....and of cousre Dublin...the east with all the castles in the water)
  • Sailing the Caribbean, on a yacht (i have done this with my parents, but i wanna do it again)
  • Christmas Market in New York

For me...there are also other things i want to do and i want to see...but they are not musts for me....i will list some of them...these do not really require explanations....i guess a way to describe them is that they come after my bucket list...i mean there are a lot of places i have not mentioned...hence they might not be on my priority list...here are a few that i would not mind seeing though...

  • Lisbon
  • Vietnam- Ho Chi Minh
  • A road trip through Italy and Croatia
  • Hamburg
  • Bierfest in Munich
  • Swimming with the shark rays in thePhilippines
  • The Great Wall of China
  • The rainforest
  • Brazil
  • Cuba
  • Peru
  • Disney Land Orlando (i would love to show my family
  • See the Champagne area in France
  • The French Riviera
  • A river cruise
  • Namibia (the dunes)

So for now....this is it...i guess it is quite a lot...and yes...these are things i dream about...i do not dream about a big cAr or a big house...but i dream about places i would love to see....what i believe is...make a bucket list of things you would love to do before you die....i think it is a great way just to make you think a little bit.....

Wedding time.....my baby sister's wedding

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
