Capri

Capri...island of love...and yes....it is beautiful...but like i said...i am very bias when we talk about Italy...so we arrived in the port of Naples and then we made our way to the ferry port...and we were very lucky cause we had a local with us who purchased tickets for us...and guess what...she managed to get us the local rates cause kim is the captain of the ship....how amazing....the ferry ride was about an hour....across the bay of naples to marina grande....as we arrived i felt like a sardine...squashed and people just wanted to get off the ferry..what the hell...no need to push...everyone will get off.....then everyone rushed to the motoscafisti the official company for doing island tours of capri.....but then kim was very clever...he found a private guide who offered us a private boat tour around the island in his boat.....just the 4 of us....so much better and the guide...was from capri...so yes...he had a lot of info and knowledge....the guide fetched the boat and off we went..

Our boat

From Marina Grande we made our way around the island....and man...it was breath-taking...and the little boat was so comfortable...we were lying on giant cushions...first we saw the mozzarella rock and literally it looked like a gian mozzarella sticking out from the water....the we also saw the scugnizzo....which is a small Naples child saying arrivederci....

Next up...the saint maria beach....one of the three sandy beaches on the island...and it is like 1m long...legends has it when two lovers go there...three will leave....next was the octopus cave aka red grotta...beautiful contrast of colours...amazing...and then the grotta bianca (white cave)....and it was literally white...just something ao different....beautiful....

We carried on further and them it was time for the view we all know from Capri...the Faraglioni....the rocks in the sea....wow...what a site....the whole trip on the boat was just so relaxing....

About to go through the fraglioni

Then came the Marina Piccola also the rich side of the island...so yes...the guide also showed us Sophia Loren's house....

The journey continued to the grotta verde (green caves) and then the lighthouse- faro di punta carena...

Before ending the trip we passed the famous grotta azzurra....which we decided not to enter...the waiting line was at least 30min long...we thought if we were on the island for a few days...yes...we probbaly would want to see it...but we only had the day...so guess what...we actually wanted to go up into the city of capri and enjoy a traditional lunch...and also...the guide had shown us various smaller sections, caves where the water looked exactly like the blue grotta but much smaller.....

Glimps of blue-ness in the grotto...image does not do iustice

Back on land...ti,e to make our way up to capri...there is a funicular that goes up into capri but we decided to take a cab...cause they looked cool...open roof and in order that people do not get sunburnt while driving up...a sheet was hung over to function as a roof...quite comical if i may say so....capri is beautiful...we strolled the narrow streets looked at all the amazing shops..typical shops for the island i guess...louis vuitton, dior, cc etc etc....but the streets were beautiful...we ended up at a quaint little spot where we tried some local, simple, traditional food....ravioli capresi (ravioli stuffed with parmesan and caciotta and chiummenzana aka tomato sauce), insalata caprese (tomatoes and bufala Mozzarella), octopus carpaccio and totani et patate (cuttlefish and potatoes)...it was delicious....and all this with a glas of white wine from the region...from Capri....and dessert...torta caprese...choc and almond cake...that was fo die for......wow....

After that another stroll through the narrow streets....some ice cream, yes you guessed it...amarena and pistaccio....we also took in the beautiful view over marina grande before making our way back down....

Before boarding the ferry....we had to have the aperitivo....which is served with nuts and chips...the typical Italian way....yummie....so damn good....

Aperitivo

And then it was time to say good-bye to the beautiful Capri...i definitely wanna come back...exploring more of CapRi as well as the Amalfi coast which inclides....positano, sorrento, amalfi...it was such an incredible day....let me leave you with one last pic of capri when we sailed away....

Capri

But there is one thing i have to add....i got spoilt...kim bought me a beautiful watch which is made for Capri...it is white with rose gold and Swarovski diamonds....every time i look at the time...it remind me of the beautiful island....CAPRI
