Home Time

How nice to come home to SA for a little bit....of course braais were needed and wanted....filet, springbok loin, lamb chunks, de-boned whole chicken.....what more could you ask for.....and no, that was not all on the same night....excellento foodies....in my next blog im gonna write about a couple of places i have gone to whether it be coffee or dinner...kim was of course so excited to drive the Harley again that we did a day trip up to Pretoria....why there...cause it is Jacaranda season....purple trees everywhere....unfortunately not indigenous to SA but one of the symbols of Pretoria between October and November....and i have to admit, yes i am embaressed, that i have never gone and seen them.....of course we also have in Joburg but never to the extend like they are in Pretoria....so up we drove on the highway...first towards the street....Herbet Baker, where there are the white Jacaranda trees...they were nice...but nothing....wow.....

Kim, the bike and the white Jacaranda trees

But from above, we saw millions of purple Jacaranda trees..and no, im am not exaggerating...so beautiful...so we made our way down and used our common senses to drive to one of the streets alligned with the Jacaranda trees....it was truely a beautiful sight....wow...and yes...we did take lots of pics....

Dont you think they are pretty?

And now....talking and looking at Harley's...let me tell you about the latest venture we are involved in....renting Harleys in SA....so of we went to an auction and yes....ended up buying another Harley....a Road King...we are all so excited about the new business venture...in actual fact kim has even done an amzing job at the website www.vikerx.co.za.....really cool....and really exciting...you wanna see the new addition...have a look....

And this blog would not be complete with one little food picture and a little food writing....we were invited for some casual dinner at friends....claudia and guenti....and wow....he made southern fried chicken.....it was amazing....the marinade/ batter was done with buttermilk, garlic and herbs....then of course some coating in flour and again dipping in the marinade...like a double dip...the deep fried in oil....it was so crispy and so delicious....served with a green salad and a tomato salad and fresh baguette...but the chicken was definitely the winner..thighs and legs....thighs were juicy and crispy...in the end i was just eating the batter....so damn good...and yes...some pics....
