Thailand part 1

So....travelling again....love it....and we all know how i love new places.....so...this time im travelling to Pattaya....kim and i flew to Bangkok and there we made our way to Pattaya....so....what did we do the couple of days....explore, relax and try foodies....and yes...try cappuccinos....where to start....lets talk some foodies....then in the next part i can chat about different things.....

Cappuccinos.....the best was at a place called Cafe Au Bon Pain....man...strong coffee and amazing foam...lots of it and thick....we shared some spinach and ricotta pastry and had cappuccinos.....i was so impressed with it....here a pic....

Of course we also tried vaious Thai food...the famous green papaya salad....which i enjoyed...its quite spicy...interesting dressing...but great....some fresh springrolls with a gravy sauce....i have never tasted anything like that....and it tasted good...but for me...i couldnt have too many pieces...but def worth a try....the green papaya salad i will definitely have again...i had with crab meat..but i would probably try the chicken one.....hmmmm....yes...of course i have some pics.....

One evening kim took me to a japanese place...had some deep fried octopus dumplings...so interesting......it looked like it was covered in paper shreds and saw dust....it was in a "snail" bowl and covered with mayo and those paper shreds...dont ask me what the actual thing was....and then some excellento sushi.....the eel one divine....and the rainbow one...heaven....so what a good dinner...so far..im very impressed with foodies...and im telling you about highlights.....not even all the items...but yes...more coming....here some pics from the Japanese restaurant...

Almost fogot...the wasabi was so fresh...could really taste the horseradish in it...i had a tiny bit and i mean tiny and it went right up my nose...wow...and then i thought lets try again and same thing....so hell of a fresh...but wow....the Last restaurant im gonna share some pics was so cool....we went to this place where you eat Shabu-Shabu....you sit down at a table and in the middle is a hole and on the side you have a pot of hot water...as you sit down...they bring a bucket of hot coal and place it in the middle and then they put a silver pot on top and pour water into the ridges...now before i loose you all...here some pics...some of the various stages...

The hot water is all you get for your base....then you have to make your own broth in which you will cook your meat...from seafood to white meat to red meat...shrimps, crab, mussles, pork belly, sausages, chicken liver, chicken heart, beef strips etc etc.....so kim went off to get all the meats and i went to get the food and ingredients for the broth...from mushrooms to chillies to fish sauce and tons and tons of garlic....i loved it...i love making my own food in a restaurant...it is so much fun...some more pics....

So...first pic above you see the broth...next pic is kim concentrating on adding the fresh meats and seafood....and then is me scrapping off the burnt bits....dessert....i fetched pineapple and we placed it on the hot part and grilled it....amazing....man....so nice...and yes...pineapple is one of my favourites fruits...actually i think it is my favourite fruit..hmmmm...never really thought about it.....so yes....we did try street food a couple of times....but i think im gonna leave that for the next blog....otherwise there might be too much to take in....hahaha....so what was my favourite...hmmmmm.....i cannot say...too difficult.....what great food experiences....will talk about street foodies and the relaxation parts.....
