Golf....and foodies

So....been playing quite a few rounds of golf....first round with my new clubs was in Dainfern.....what a nice course...well looked after...and i have never played it before so was great...nice to play new courses....i had some of my new clubs and some of my old clubs...intersting...but new ones seem like they work...now some practice with them....played in Randpark Ridge, Bushwillow....had an ok round....nice individual shots...but somehow the end game didnt reflect that.....and also played twice in Bryanston....so been good....and im definitely getting there...the one round in Bryanston i wanted to give up...had amazing drives and amazing second or third shots and then dont even ask what happened after that...putting just didnt do it....that day...and normally....im quite good....well second nine my putting was good...shots were good and i was a happy camper with my new clubs....new hat and a new marker....in all the rounds i managed to get one birdie...man i was so happy....kim also one....so he was also excited....so here some pics....first one is Dainfern...then me about to get a birdie and then Kim about to get a birdie....

Other than golf there are two places that i would like to mention with regards to going out for some coffee...food.....the first one is a place called Whippet in Linden.....cnr 7th and 4th.....here is a pic of the entrance

So we ordered a quiche and salad and a moccachino and a cappuchino......of course i asked for lots of foam and little milk...and they got it spot on....frustrating was though that when they finished preparing the coffee i saw it stand on the counter for quite some time before being served....so hence it was luke warm....pity....when we asked what the quiche of the day was the waitress had to think and was not sure...that was also a little dissappointing...in my opinion the waitress should have known......hmmmmm.....quiche and salad was good though and the price was also good.....whether i would drive all that way again....honestly i am not quite convinced....here another pic of the inside...

Then....went to Licorish again....and again...exellento....kim had the seared tuna for starters and i had the salmon carpaccio.....both wow....of course we had bubbly....bottle of the rose Krone....also very good....then for mains i had the salmon on a coconut samoosa and passion fruit hollondaise...not so sure about the passion fruit hollondaise to be honest...salmon and samoosa great.....kim had the fillet tasting plate and his favourite was the one with red wine sauce on some mash (there was one with a hollondaise and one with a pepper sauce)..dessert....yes....we had the strawberry crumble with the liquorish ice cream....and kim enjoyed it....next time we said we gonna try the gorgonzola cheesecake....there is just still so many menu items i wanna try....def def going back there...what a great evening....here of course some pics....kims starter...and both our mains

Wedding time.....my baby sister's wedding

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Hong kong

So, lets do this blog a little different....when you go to Hong Kong, this is my top 10 highlights, things i think you must do (not any particular order): 1. Junk boat cruise (1 hour) 2. Dim sums at Maxims Palace City Hall 3. Deep Fried Pork Bun at Tim Ho Wan 4. Shopping (not neccessarily to buy but just to see) 5. Flute bar in Soho (such a variety of cocktails) 6. Armani Prive bar (rooftop bar) 7. Tram to Victoria Peak 8. Lamma island and of course that includes the hike and seafood 9. Under the bridge crab (garlic crab) 10. Nightmarket with eating local food which includes 1000 year old egg So...now some of those i have done this time in Hong Kong and some i did last time.....so lets do this way..im going to split my experience in Hong Kong in 2 parts, otherwise this blog will be endless.....but im gonna go through all top 10 attractions.... Podere il Casale

Beautiful place near Monticchiello in the Southern Tuscany. My parents, together with Mutti and Sofia went there whilst Kim and I were in Corsica. They raved about it, stating that it was Swiss owned and they met the couple who owns and runs it. They are actively involved and so are their children. Their food is produced on the farm, they are famous for their Pecorino cheese. They also offer Pizza and bread courses, camping etc etc....in fact i was really looking forward to visiting this place. They have outdoor and indoor seating but i must say the outdoor seating cannot be compared to the indoor hall. The outside is quaint, picturesque and has breath-taking views. There is quite a long dirt road following up to Podere il Casale....its not so easily found. The sign at the entrance is also not too good.
