Manila part I

So....i left Pattaya to go and see my sis in Manila for a few days...here i would also meet up with my mom....the main reason was to have her bachelorette and her bridal shower.....but before i start....i forgot to mention....in Thailand kim took me on a Harley Ride...was so much fun....def something i wanna do again...no idea why i forgot...i guess we did so many things that this escaped....but....def somethingni wanna do again...next time i guess i should take pics...man....where was my mind.....

So...as mentioned then main reason was to go see my sister to hold the bachelorette and bridal shower....so the first day we were there we arrived late afternoon so dinner was planned....Italian....i said to my sister i felt like something Western....italian it was...very casual but very good food.....we had a carprese...proscuitto and mango and a pasta...the pasta was really cool..it serves 2 people and you can choose any 3 pastas from the menu....so we chose a cream base, an olive oil base and a tomato base.....we chose creamy with smoked salmon, al olio with sundried tomato & prawns and puttanesca.....excellento....here some pics

The next day we did some admin things...from looking for shoes, to fitting for my brides maid dress to going to the Penninsula hotel to make sure all would be ok for Saturday's bridal shower.....and last but not least to go back to my favourite choc place....the chocs created by the pastry chef from the Shangri La.....man..good....i had a pistaccio, a white Russian and a raspberry lip....the best def pistaccio....the other two were ok....wouldnt choose them again...here a pic of all 6 (my sis had 3 and me 3).....
that night....time for the bachelorette....it was just the brides maids and Fabienne....we went to a Spanish tapas place for dinner...the one we went to last time we were in Manila....excellento food...and we tried different tapas...so good...the Sangria....def NOT worth it....next time i hopefully will remember....first pic a flat bread with jamon (Spanish ham) and second pic gambos with garlic and chorizo.....

I brought an outfit for my sister from South Africa and also brought 6 shots from South Africa. They came in a pack...quite cool...all half and half shooters....so there was sambucca & banana, springbok (peppermint and kalula), tequila & apple sour etc....the outfit...playboy bunny....ears, tail, sling and a bow tie....hahaha.....and she started putting on the things during the dinner....some pics....

After that, time for a lounge....rocket room....had this interesting drink called rocket fire....like a caipirinha with chillies and pepper.....had a good kick....Fabienne was having such a good time...of course she was given a pennis straw to drink from which almost killed her....hahaha....but in her defense...it was rather huge....of course i have some more pics....

Last stop was a place called Craft....a bar with cheesy music...also fun....Fabienne didnt last too long...around midnight we went home...what a fun night out....tomorrow....bridal shower.....a high tea at the Penninsula hotel with all ladies....a lingerie party....my mom and i went a little earlier so we could do the decor and then everyone else arrived at 3pm....here a pic of Fabienne's seat....couldnt help myself with the strawberry and cream sperm...

The afternoon consisted of games, presents and high tea...which was cake tiers served at the table.....the savoury items were really good...for the sweets, i think they need a better pastry chef....i was disappointed...the choc cake a little dry...and the other things nothing jumped at me...nothing special.....here some pics....

Great afternoon....at night Gina (my sister's mother in law-to-be) invited us for dinner to meet her sister and her husband....very good food.....the two things that stood out for me....the starter...tuna carpaccio and dessert...choc, hazelnut tarte (the desserts we ordered 4 and shared them.....caramel salt ice cream, crepe susette, choc & hazelnut tarte and pavlova)...the biggest disappointment was the crepe....couldnt taste the Grande Marnier at all....tasted like a plain crepe...not even sweet....very very disappointed....but the restaurant all in all and the evening was fab.....here two pics....

Wedding time.....my baby sister's wedding

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Hong kong

So, lets do this blog a little different....when you go to Hong Kong, this is my top 10 highlights, things i think you must do (not any particular order): 1. Junk boat cruise (1 hour) 2. Dim sums at Maxims Palace City Hall 3. Deep Fried Pork Bun at Tim Ho Wan 4. Shopping (not neccessarily to buy but just to see) 5. Flute bar in Soho (such a variety of cocktails) 6. Armani Prive bar (rooftop bar) 7. Tram to Victoria Peak 8. Lamma island and of course that includes the hike and seafood 9. Under the bridge crab (garlic crab) 10. Nightmarket with eating local food which includes 1000 year old egg So...now some of those i have done this time in Hong Kong and some i did last time.....so lets do this way..im going to split my experience in Hong Kong in 2 parts, otherwise this blog will be endless.....but im gonna go through all top 10 attractions.... Podere il Casale

Beautiful place near Monticchiello in the Southern Tuscany. My parents, together with Mutti and Sofia went there whilst Kim and I were in Corsica. They raved about it, stating that it was Swiss owned and they met the couple who owns and runs it. They are actively involved and so are their children. Their food is produced on the farm, they are famous for their Pecorino cheese. They also offer Pizza and bread courses, camping etc etc....in fact i was really looking forward to visiting this place. They have outdoor and indoor seating but i must say the outdoor seating cannot be compared to the indoor hall. The outside is quaint, picturesque and has breath-taking views. There is quite a long dirt road following up to Podere il Casale....its not so easily found. The sign at the entrance is also not too good.
