My venture

Marcel Bucher......05.05. 1927-16.08.2013......this was my dad's dad.....and his death was the reason for me flying to Switzerland in the middle of my contract.....i thought i would go help my dad organise everything and of course go to the funeral..... I must say organising it all was so easy....my grandfather had organised almost everything already....from his grave stone to talking to the pastor...to writing a list of people he wants there as well as addresses and phone numbers...it was amazing....so eveything was done without a headache.... Here is a pic of my grandfather.... My grandfather and my dad My dad and i drove a few times to Basel cause that is where my granfather wanted to be cremated and he wanted to be buried next to my granmother who died on the 10. Mai 2004. We organised Viaricci to sing a few songs, this my grandfather had organised for my grandmother and we thought it would be special if we organised the same for him.....Viaricci is a well known sin...

Yes...you reading correctly....unfortunately my gandfather (my dads dad) has passed away and i decided to take an emergency break for one week....leave Saturday in Venice and return the following Saturday to Venice.....i worked in the morning and then Kim and I made the most of our day cause my flight was only at 20:00....so yes.....first off was the famous ice cream sandwich...but we were disappointed...somehow we remember it being better....and after that...of course our famous pippa place....and we wanted to try a new one...but kim ally wanted to the one with the egg in the middle again...so ham, salami, mushrooms and egg it was...and amazing it was....of course...another ice cream....we tried this Vexicana and amarena....but def wouldnt have the Vexicana again...it was with some dried fruits and you normally put into christmas cakes and i didnt find it so wow....ice cream was cream flavoured and i thought nothing special at all....the amarena...however....was amzing cause there we...

Yes....finally a blog on all the Magnums that Kim and I have tried....not Kim OR I....but Kim AND I.....where to start....the classic...the one we all know.... Magnum Classic: Vanilla ice cream covered with smooth, silky milk chocolate....yummie...simple but good Classic: found in South Africa Magnum Almond: Second best know....vanilla ice cream covered with milky choc with almond splinters....i definitely prefer this to the classic...but i am a nut lover...so yes...there is bias.... Pic...still needed..... Magnum Hazelnut: This has choclate ice cream and is covered with chcolate with hazelnut splinters....yummie...but i would rather have the Almond Magnum Hazelnut: found in South Afica White Magnum: white choc with vanilla ice cream....believe it or not...i actually like it...different...white choc is of course sweeter...but it actually tastes yummie...and there is nuts in the choc covering the ice cream...bonus Hmmmmm....i dont have a pic Mint Magnum: dont ask...

4hrs off in Piraeus...definitely time to go toAthens...and you know what...see the Acropolis again...why...my 3 friends have not seen it...so i thought....hmmm....why not join them....it was hot...but i love the sun...felt so good to be out in the sun...we grabbed a taxi (outside the port) for €10....we almst fell from the chair when we heard the price...so cheap...to Athens...wow...we jumped right in...grabbed the opportunity....once there we were surprised there was no que...bought the tickets...€12 per person...but we had two of us which still had university cards....that means for free....so we ended up all paying €6, what a good a deal....we took it slow....walked around the Acropolis...and we took many many pictures....it was so much fun...of course that is what im going to share with you...all the pics....so here goes.... First 2 weeks...not much time to go out....afternoon shift....start around 12 (and as we all know in Greece and Turkey nothing really opens before 10....so, no need to rush out) and then work till like 1630, then the ship leaves...see...no time....but once...yes....once in 2 weeks we managed to get out....in the morning...8....in mykonos we decided to go to the beach and load up on some sun.... It was perfect...cause no need for sun tan lotion as it wasnt so hot...but the sea could have been a little bit warmer.....but...i am not complaining...we got to go to a beautiful beach and without having to sweat....and we did have a lot of fun....jumping in the water, tanning and of course chatting...nice to get out and enjoy....and here are some pics.... Hmmmmm....am i slacking...once again...yes.....excuse me...well actually whilst working on the ship i have also taken over doing the books again for the family business....and that is taking some of my "free" time....so yes.....a little busy....but not too busy to stop my blog...just a little slower....we drove back from Tuscany in good time so that we could enjoy Venezia a little....yes, yes...stopped on the way...but this time we made lunch in the car...left over peccorini cheese, toscana salami and wild boar salami (of course crackers)...divine....later a stop for a cappuccino and ice cream (great ice cream...sandwich style...but lets not say anything about the cappuccino), oh well...Company made up for it.... In Venezia we took a water taxi to the Hilton...looooong ride....1h50min....and it was hot...humid...and thus sticky....but i must say....the ride was quite quick cause scenery is nice and we were taking pics....and chatting....so suddenly the Hilton Molino Stucky...
