My bday......so....another year older....hmmmmm....my shift was to start at 7am and it was a sea day..day after embarkation...always one of the busiest days..so kim told me the night before....lets wake up at 530 and have some coffee together...and open presents....that sounded like an excellent idea to me....in the morning kim brought me coffee in bed and i was allowed to open presents in bed....what a start to my bday.....the presents each had a small explanation.....from "something that you gonna need soon" to "something that has a little Finnish in it".....loved my morning....great start to my birthday.....then time to go to work...... Office decorated with balloons......people wishing me happy birhday....time flew and lunch time came quicker than expected....time to have some sushi lunch with a couple of girlfriends....and surprise...when we went for lunch, there was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting....we enjoyed bubbly, sushi and a good catch up....i was lu...

Schedule permitted me to go on a 4 hr tour to Pompeii.....man i was so excited....have heard so much about Pompeii and i have wanted to go there for long...and the best part....kim could come with me....so off we went round 8:30....Pompeii is only about a 30min bus ride....so convenient...and on the way there the tour guide gave us some facts about Pompeii....i think ill share some..... -Mt Vesuvius errupted in 79AD -Ashes rose 32km into the sky before covering Pompeii -Pompeii was only rediscovered in 1738 -Mt Vesuvius is located 10km from Pompeii -Mt Vesuvius is one of the five most dangerous volcanoes in the world and is still active now....it errupts every (plus/ minus) 75 to 100 years...the last erruption was in 1944....so currently they are waiting for an erruption, in actual fact they are hopeing for one....cause the longer there is no erruption, the more violet the next one will be -It only took 4hrs to cover Pompeii in ashes between 5m and 12m thick Last fact for the moment.....

So....i have never been to Irakolin...decided to do some sight seeing on my own...with my friend the umbrella....bad weather...well drizzle when i left.....i had the map with the tourist spots and decided to just arb around a little...look at the main stops, sites and then have some cappuccino.....i was supposed to go out with a friend...but somehow we managed to miss each other....and sometimes i like just wondering on my own....so off i went..... Walk towards the main street....passing the Venetian fortress which i thought would be a nice stop at the end....so the main road had s...
